About This Project

Brazilian duo Clara Valente (vocals & keys) and Guilherme Gautreaux (percussion & programming), known as Claxy, transform the lush orchestral textures of MPB into pulsating electronica with shoegaze undertones. Childhood sweethearts from Rio de Janeiro, they traded home for Mannheim, Germany, blending Brazilian rhythms with European electronic influences.

Valente’s classical training and Gautreaux’s drumming roots merge with cutting-edge synths and drum machines, creating a sound that is both melodic and experimental. After early success with Valente’s album Mil Coisas in Brazil, the duo embraced Europe as their creative base, releasing EPs on Natura Viva and Anjunadeep, and evolving into the unique soundscape that defines Claxy today.

Their latest album, produced by Julia Borelli, marks a return to MPB, enriched with Afro-Brazilian rhythms, jazzy harmonies, and shoegaze textures—melding the duo’s Brazilian heritage with a contemporary electronic edge.
